Slabline Ltd
Throughout the years, we’ve firmly established ourselves as leaders in the concrete slabs industry.
SLABLINE AND THE ENVIRONMENT
At Slabline, environmental responsibility is a core value embedded in everything we do. We are dedicated to sustainable practices, utilizing materials that contribute to eco-friendly building projects and minimize environmental impact.
Eco-Friendly Material: Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) boasts excellent environmental credentials, making it the ideal material for modern, eco-conscious building designs. Polystyrene is chemically stable, environmentally non-aggressive, and fully recyclable into long-lasting products. All of our suppliers adhere to the latest environmental standards to ensure sustainable manufacturing processes.
Slabline TASS Decking: Sustainable Manufacturing
Slabline TASS decking products are made in New Zealand through environmentally responsible processes. Our products are 100% recyclable, supporting the sustainable construction of energy-efficient buildings.

Our Commitment to Recycling
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we integrate a recycling program into every project we undertake. We provide free recycling bags to all our clients, enabling them to easily dispose of polystyrene waste. Once filled, we collect the bags and repurpose the materials in their facilities. Each month, they recycle approximately 500 cubic meters of EPS waste.
Our business model is rooted in a circular economy approach, focusing on regenerative practices that maximize the reuse of products and return them to the production cycle.
The Benefits of EPS in Building
EPS is composed of 98% air, offering exceptional thermal insulation properties, which make it an ideal material for energy-efficient building solutions. In addition to its insulation capabilities, EPS provides the following advantages:
- Lightweight: Easy to transport and install.
- Moisture Resistant: Enhances water penetration resistance.
- Sound Absorbent: Improves sound insulation, particularly when combined with denser materials like concrete.
- Safe: Non-toxic, free of CFCs, 100% recyclable, odourless, non-allergenic, and resistant to microorganisms.
- Versatile: Can be molded and shaped into various forms, making it cost-effective for creating decorative building elements like mouldings and cornices.
- Fire Retardant: All EPS used in TASS building products is fire-retardant, preventing the spread of fire.
- Durable: EPS does not rot or degrade, maintaining its dimensional stability and functionality throughout the lifespan of any building.
Our Environmental Goals
Slabline is committed to the following environmental objectives:
- Achieving zero EPS waste to landfill.
- Producing long-lasting EPS products such as insulation and void forms
- Reducing the consumption of oil-based virgin raw materials in production.
- Using only Poly FR Fire Retardant in all raw materials.

Low carbon cement.
Eco-cem is made using, Blast Furnace Slag (BFS). Commonly used overseas, BFS is a by-product of steel production that we re-purpose into a low carbon cement substitution material with superior durability to traditional cement. It’s the first of its type available in New Zealand and it’s made in Mount Maunganui.
Eco-cem is used together with our GP cement Xtra-cem in different measures depending on your application, making a bespoke, more durable concrete product with better resistance to wear and tear that reduces your carbon footprint by up to 70%.
Locally-made Eco-cem is a low-carbon cement substitute which has been thoroughly tested and years in the making.
